E3 Lithium, a major Canadian lithium company, announced on 21 October 2025 that it has started construction work on its Phase 2 Demonstration Facility site at the Clearwater Lithium Project area, located east of the town of Olds, Alberta. The company had received approval of the required permits from the Alberta Energy Regulator, which was announced on September 11, 2025. It has been actively working to prepare the site and make it ready for the planned drilling program as part of Phase 2 of the Demonstration Facility.
